Fairytale garden with summerhouse
The client had moved into a substantial five-bedroomed house with a garden of approximately half an acre.
To give her a real impression of her taste in furnishings, particularly style and colour, the client showed Mary round the entire house.
Says Mary, "I pressed a porcelain pink hydrangea floret as a 'token' of what I perceived to be the client’s overall style, and that helped me in my design."
The Brief
- A summerhouse at a corner angle
- A waterfall (to be illuminated at night)
- Incorporation of an existing patio
The Outcome
- What had previously been a rather boring patio was made into a real feature, angled to complement the new summerhouse
- The waterfall was created into a bank and Mary placed a curving woodland walk behind it
- The curved pergola at the side of the house leads you round to the stunning rear garden.
