A sunny seaside retreat
Mr and Mrs B had recently purchased their new-build home as a seaside retreat. They were keen to make both house and garden usable as soon as possible.
The Brief
- To create a stunning garden with 'wow' factor.
- The garden was to be low maintenance.
- Suitable space was needed for 10 dining alfresco complete with BBQ unit.
- Planting for effect had to withstand salt laden wind due to the seaside location.
- A salvaged church pew was to be placed within the new garden.
The Outcome
- A simple but stunning garden has been created which looks wonderful at ground level as well as from first and second floor windows.
- A bin and recycling 'hide' is disguised within the garden close to the house.
- Plants suitable for chalk soil have been used throughout the planting scheme which will look increasingly stunning as they mature.
