A private space to call their own
Mr and Mrs M had moved into a beautiful appartment within a former Mansion House in Sevenoaks. They wanted to turn their designated garden space into a private courtyard which they could enjoy with friends and family.
The Brief
- To create privacy
- To continue to allow communal access across the eastern end of the garden
- The garden was to be low maintenance whilst allowing some active gardening
- The whole to relate to the property
The Outcome
- The clean lines of this design disguise the complexity of constraints within this setting!
- Quality of materials used in this garden is evident throughout.
- The inset of new Victorian tiling gives 'a nod' to the original tiles under the neighbouring garden flat's verandah, whilst adding to the Mondrian theme of the new.
