Beautiful listed building in Sussex
This delightful property is situated within 2 acres of land. A large natural pond lies behind the house. The garden and surrounding land had become overgrown...the 'Sleeping beauty' was in need of awakening!
- To visually reconnect the house and lake.
- To open up the overgrown garden.
- To create an easier-to-maintain garden.
- This project is on going but the results are already evident.
- The image of the house reflected in the lake once more says it all!

"Over a 20 year period our garden had quietly grown into a jungle of huge hedges, thick thickets, tall trees and a disappearing pond - until one summer’s day last year Mary Stevenson came to our rescue.
She strode into the middle of our field of 5ft nettles, exuding good humour, enthusiasm and creativity and after several months of site meetings and consultations, she designed a major plan of action to transform every aspect of the garden - restoring the pond, building a patio area, creating a sweeping drive, introducing colour, scent and texture in low maintenance flower beds and returning the land to its natural contours.
Mary and her lovely team of contractors guided and supported us throughout the entire landscaping process, and nine months later, our property looks so different that visitors have actually driven straight past!
Importantly too, a recent valuation has confirmed that landscaping the garden has added as much as 10% to the value of our house. We are getting so much pleasure from the haven Mary has created for us - we are very grateful to her."
